Eva Nassif, Member of Parliament for Vimy, commemorates the Armenian Genocide in the Canadian House of Commons

Laval (Québec) – Wednesday May 3, 2017 – Eva Nassif, Member of Parliament for Vimy, stood in the House of Commons during member’s statements to pay tribute to the last survivor of the Armenian Genocide in Canada, the late Knar Bohjalian-Yeminidjian, who passed away this January in Montreal at age 107 and to commemorate the 102nd anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. She also called on legislators and leaders of the world to stand against injustice everywhere.

Knar was a living example of resilience and strength, whose life story serves as a reminder to stand vigilant against violence and injustice. I had the privilege of meeting her at the 100th commemoration of the Armenian Genocide in Ottawa and, last week, had the honour of reading the Prime Minister’s letter at the 102nd commemoration in Laval. – Eva Nassif.
