Syrian Army seizes control of more than 60 percent of Eastern Aleppo –

(AlMasdar) – The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) continued their large-scale offensive in Aleppo on Saturday, targeting several districts under the control of Fatah Halab and Jaysh Al-Fatah in the eastern pocket of the city.

Led by the Tiger Forces and Republican Guard, the Syrian Arab Army stormed the Tariq Al-Bab, Karm al-Tarrab, and Al-Jazmati quarters of east Aleppo, striking the jihadist defenses from several axes, while the Syrian Arab Air Force (SAAYF) provided aerial support.

In a matter of hours, the Syrian Arab Army managed to break-through Fatah Halab’a defenses at Tariq Al-Bab, resulting in a major advance across this important quarter.

Following their advance in Tariq Al-Bab, the Syrian Arab Army seized several neighborhoods inside of the Karm Al-Tarrab and Al-Jazmati, forcing Fatah Halab and Jaysh Al-Fateh to frantically retreat from these quarters.

As a result of today’s advances, the Syrian Arab Army is now in control of more than 60 percent of the east Aleppo pocket, leaving the jihadist rebels in a poor position around the remaining districts.
