Final preparations made for largest Syrian army offensive in Aleppo
Final preparations made for largest Syrian army offensive in Aleppo –
AlMasdarNews reports: The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) reportedly made its final preparations on Tuesday before they launch their largest Aleppo offensive during this 5 year long conflict.
Led by the Syrian Arab Army’s “Tiger Forces” and Hezbollah, the government forces are expected to attack several axes that are under the control of the jihadist rebels, including the eastern and southern districts of the provincial capital.
Unlike their last few Aleppo offensives, the Syrian Arab Army and Hezbollah will have the Russian Air Force and Navy at their disposal, which will greatly benefit them in the heavily fortified jihadist districts.
The Russian Navy has already begun launching their sophisticated Kalibr cruise missiles towards Jaysh Al-Fateh’s positions in southern Aleppo; however, this kind of attack is expected to intensify in the coming days as the Syrian Army’s offensive nears.
Also making a comeback during this offensive will be Harakat Al-Nujaba (Iraqi paramilitary); many of their fighters traveled to Iraq for a brief hiatus before returning to Syria recently.
In the coming days, all of these pro-government forces combined will conduct the largest military operation to-date in Syria, as they strive to expel the remaining jihadist rebels from Aleppo.
