AYF Camp Vanadzor 2016 – Day 7
AYF Camp Vanadzor 2016 – Day 7
I blindly immersed myself into AYF’s Youth Corps program not knowing what to expect. I knew I would fall in love with the campers, yet had no idea how deeply. These campers have taught me more than I can ever teach them. I, along with two other counselors, Palig and Mary, have the largest group with a hundred-and-two campers. There are no words to describe the amount of affection we are all showered with, every day. Each camper has touched my heart in a way nothing else ever will. Its only day two, of week two, but I am already finding it hard to imagine the rest of my summer without these kids.
Our days are filled with park time, singing, dancing, and arts and crafts. The kids came together today in teams and came up with ideas to decorate our group poster. Each team had incorporated the ARF symbol into their artwork, along with our team name, Artsivner (Eagles) . These kids are so incredibly passionate and patriotic about our motherland, I cannot wait to see the things they will do, and the places they will reach.
