Armenian-Canadian Dr. Armen Aprikian elected Fellow of Canadian Academy of Health Sciences

(Horizon Media / MONTREAL) – Armenian-Canadian physician and surgeon-scientist Dr. Armen Aprikian has been elected a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences (CAHS) as part of its 2026 cohort, recognizing his contributions to cancer care, research and medical leadership in Canada.

Dr. Aprikian is Professor of Surgery and Oncology at McGill University and Chief of Oncology at the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) and the Cedars Cancer Centre. A leading specialist in urologic oncology, his research focuses on prostate cancer, health economics and improving the quality of care for patients with urologic malignancies.

He is among six MUHC physicians elected to the CAHS Fellowship this year, alongside Drs. Liane Feldman, Edward Fon, Momar Ndao, Lorenzo Ferri and Michael Petrides.

The Canadian Academy of Health Sciences brings together leading health and biomedical researchers and scholars from across Canada. Election to the Fellowship is considered one of the country’s highest honours in the health sciences, recognizing individuals who have demonstrated significant leadership, innovation and service in advancing the health and well-being of Canadians.
