Trump lists Armenia Azerbaijan mediation among first year achievements

(Horizon Weekly) – To mark the completion of the first year of his second term, U.S. President Donald Trump published a document titled “365 Victories,” a curated list intended to showcase what the White House describes as the administration’s major accomplishments over the past twelve months. The list highlights achievements spanning domestic policy, economic initiatives, and foreign affairs.
Among the 365 entries, number 143 stands out in the context of international diplomacy. It credits Trump with mediating peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan and states that he played a personal role in advancing the process. The inclusion of this item positions the Armenia-Azerbaijan file as one of the administration’s most significant foreign policy initiatives during the year.
Trump has repeatedly argued that his involvement in resolving international conflicts merits recognition at the highest level, including the Nobel Peace Prize. He has maintained that each instance in which his administration helped reduce tensions or facilitate agreements strengthens that claim. However, according to Deutsche Welle, the Armenia-Azerbaijan dispute is the only case in which the Trump administration can point to a concrete, verifiable outcome to support such assertions.
At the same time, while progress has been made in easing tensions between Armenia and Azerbaijan at the state level, many fundamental issues remain unresolved. Questions related to the rights, security, and future of the Armenian population displaced from Artsakh, as well as broader aspects of the Artsakh conflict itself, continue to lack comprehensive political and legal solutions, underscoring the limits of diplomatic breakthroughs that focus primarily on interstate agreements rather than the humanitarian and conflict legacy dimensions of the dispute.
