Yerevan international airport tightens security control –
Armenia International Airports, the company owning Yerevan’s Zvartnots International Airport, has tightened the passenger security control procedures as a preventive measure following the Paris terrorist attacks.
Speaking to Tert.am, a spokesperson for the company, Gevorg Abrahamyan, said that customs officers will from now on check also the shoes of passengers.
“Tighter measures are envisaged for both the employees, and the luggage examination procedures. The airport’s security service is going to be more attentive and vigilant to everything,” he told our correspondent.
It comes after the European countries imposed tough procedures in airport services in the wake of the Paris bombings, the tragedy a key security threat and challenge.
Abrahamyan said Zvartnots is equipped with technical supplies conforming to international standards to ensure the necessary protection.
