Turkish MP calls on parliament to face Armenian Genocide –

On March 18, Turkish parliament speaker Cemil Cicek delivered opening remarks during the special session of the Great National Assembly commemorating the centenary of Canakkale battles, followed by other presenters’ speeches.

MP from Pro-Kurdish Peoples’ democratic party Abdullah Levent Tuzel’s declarations about Armenians outraged fellow MPs,” Yerkir.am writes citing Turkish Milliyet.

“Our Armenian compatriots from Anatolia were fighting bravely in Canakkale, however, Armenian intellectuals were exiled from Istanbul the same year. If we recognize our heritage of Canakkale battle, then we should without hesitation acknowledge that Armenians were exiled or massacred during the Genocide. We should thoroughly analyze the policy that finally resulted in the assassination of Hrant Dink,” Tuzler said.
