ANCC Western Region representatives meet with Speaker of the BC Legislature Hon. Linda Reid –

On Friday March 6th, ANCC (Armenian National Committee of Canada) Western Region Chairman Vahe Andonian and Armenian Genocide Centennial Committee representative Hagop Der Hagopian met with Richmond MLA and Speaker of the BC Legislature Hon. Linda Reid in her constituency office.

Speaker of the House Reid is the longest serving MLA, having been continuously elected since 1991.

During the friendly hour long meeting, the 100th Anniversary Genocide Commemoration mission and upcoming events throughout BC and across Canada were discussed.

Unger Andonian extended an invitation to the Speaker on behalf of ANCC to join other parliamentarians from around the world in visiting the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Nagorno Karabagh during this special year.

Speaker Reid pledged to pay her respects at the Armenian Genocide Monument of Vancouver during this year’s commemoration.

Many local community issues were discussed and planned with Speaker Reid, whose riding includes the Armenian Community Centre and St. Gregory Armenian Church.

 Ungers Andonian and Der Hagopian thanked Hon. Linda Reid for her continued support, and promised to maintain close working ties.
