Ontario’s Minister of Finance Meets with National Ethnic Press Council at Queen’s Park

On Monday March 9th, Horizon Weekly Senior Correspondent Nazeeg Haneshian alongside Jacques Varbedian attended the monthly National Ethnic Press Council meeting at Queen’s Park. Member of Ontario’s legislature Hon. Aris Babikian (MPP) introduced Hon. Rod Phillips, Ontario’s Minister of Finance, who was present and addressed the members with updates. With growing concerns of COVID-19, he assured attendees that the provincial and federal governments are both taking appropriate proactive measures to ensure the health and safety of all Canadians. Hon. Rob Phillips also highlighted the economic growth of Ontario, sharing the increase of 300,000 jobs for Canadians, of which 90% have been from the private sector. Hon Rod Philips closed off his remarks by sharing his gratitude for the National Ethnic Press Council and the significant role all the journalists play in sharing news and updates on national and global scale.
