Armenian officials meet NATO envoy in Yerevan

(Horizon Media / YEREVAN) – Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and President Vahagn Khachaturyan separately met with NATO Secretary General’s Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia, Kevin Hamilton, during his visit to Yerevan.
According to official readouts, the meetings addressed Armenia–NATO relations and ongoing areas of cooperation. The sides discussed current programs, potential areas for continued engagement, and the implementation of joint initiatives in fields of mutual interest.
Pashinyan briefed the NATO representative on the government’s agenda, including efforts related to democratic governance and institutional development. The discussions also covered regional security issues and broader stability concerns.
Hamilton, for his part, noted NATO’s interest in maintaining cooperation with Armenia within existing frameworks.
In a separate meeting, President Khachaturyan also discussed Armenia–NATO ties with Hamilton, including ongoing dialogue and cooperation with NATO and its member states. The sides exchanged views on possible areas of collaboration, including governance-related reforms, rule of law, and institutional capacity-building.
The president also referred to Armenia’s cooperation with individual NATO member states across political and defense-related sectors.
Both meetings included discussions on regional developments and security challenges.
Previous to his current role, Hamilton served as Canada’s Ambassador to Turkey, Azerbaijan and Georgia, following several other diplomatic postings around the world.
