EAFJD Mourns Passing of Former French Minister Patrick Devedjian
It is with great sadness that we learned the death of Patrick Devedjian, former French Minister of Armenian origin after being diagnosed with Covid-19.
European Armenian Federation for Justice and Democracy (EAFJD) president Kaspar Karampetian said: “It is a great loss for the Armenians in France and in Europe. Patrick Devedjian was one of the rare Armenians in any European country to hold prominent ministerial portfolios. But at the same time, he never stopped being Armenian and fighting for the Armenian Cause, as a lawyer during his young age and later as a successful politician. He played a major role in the recognition of the Armenian Genocide by France. He is an example that many young European Armenians can follow.”
The EAFJD sends its sincere condolences to his family, friends and to the entire Armenian community of France.
