Development of military industry a priority for Armenia – Defense Minister

(Armradio) – The development of military industry and the improvement of education in the sphere are among the priorities of the Armenian Defense Ministry.

“This year we have introduced equipment developed and produced in Armenia, which is very important for effective fulfillment of combat duty,” Minister Sargsyan told a press conference today.

He said that the locally produced and supplied equipment is efficient from the financial point of view and do not have the analogues on the market.

According to Vigen Sargsyan, this is the first step towards making military industry one of the important locomotives of Armenian economy.”

The Minister said efforts are under way to export Armenia-made military equipment to the international market.

Vigen Sargsyans aid the supply of Russian weapons under the $200 million loan agreement will be completed by the end of the year.
