His Grace Bishop Meghrig Parikian, Prelate of Canada –
The quadrennial election for the office of Prelate held on May 10, 2014 in Montreal, as part of the 56/13th Assembly of the Canadian Armenian National Representatives of the Armenian Prelacy of Canada.
The delegates of the Assembly, representing clergy and lay leaders from every parish of Canada elected His Grace Bishop Meghrig Parikian to first term of office.
The Prelacy Bylaws stipulate that every four years, His Holiness Aram I, Catholicos, submits a slate of three candidates for an election to fill the office of the Prelate.
Shortly after the elections, the clergy of the Prelacy escorted Bishop Parikian into Sourp Hagop Armenian Apostolic Church with the traditional welcoming hymn. The newly elect Prelate thanked the delegates for the privilege to serve the Canadian Prelacy and its people.
