King Abdullah of Jordan arrives in Armenia for official visit
The King of Jordan, His Majesty Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein Al Hashimi has arrived in Armenia on an official visit at the invitation of Armenian President Armen Sarkissian.
King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein is highly respected in the Islamic world; he is a representative of the Royal Hashemian dynasty, from the 41st generation of Prophet Muhammad, and was crowned on February 7, 1999.
Abdullah II is the guardian of the Christian and Islamic shrines in Jerusalem.
President Sarkissian and King of Jordan met in April 2019, during President Sarkissian’s working visit to Jordan.
The President of Armenia invited the King of Jordan to visit Armenia. The official welcoming ceremony will take place at the Presidential Palace and will be followed by the meeting between President Sarkissian and King Abdullah II. The leaders of the two countries will also make a statement on the topic of Religion and Tolerance.
In the framework of his visit, the King of Jordan will also meet with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinian, at the Holy See of Etchmiadzin he will be hosted by His Holiness, Catholicos of All Armenians and Supreme Patriarch Garegin II. The King of Jordan will also visit the Tsitsernakaberd, the Armenian Genocide Memorial.
