Armenian Soldier Killed by Azerbaijani Fire on Nakhichevan Border

An Armenian serviceman was killed in Azerbaijan’s fire from across the border on July 14, the Ministry of Defense reports.

An incident happened in the morning of July 14 when the Azerbaijani units of Nakhijevan attempted to advance and carry out engineering work with the use of heavy machinery.

After the Armenian side took measures to stop Azerbaijan’s activity on the border, the Azeri troops opened targeted fire and killed an Armenian soldier, also sustaining losses themselves.

The Ministry of Defense strongly condemned Azerbaijan’s provocation, vowing severe retaliation.

“The entire responsibility for further escalation of the situation rests with the military-political leadership of Azerbaijan,” it said.
