ASIMDER intends to disrupt annual liturgy in Holy Cross Church of Akhtamar –

Gyoksel Gyulbey

Hayernaysor – Turkey’s Ultra-nationalist and anti-Armenian ASIIMDER organization continues its efforts to prevent the Holy Mass from taking place at the church of Akhtamar. In a statement, leader of the organization Gyoksel Gyulbey has called on the Turkish authorities to prohibit the Armenians from holding their annual Holy Mass at the Holy Cross Church of Akhtamar, writes ermenihaber.am.

The Turkish Samsunhaber reports that Gyulbey has called on Turkish and Azerbaijani organizations of the world to join his organization and prevent the Holy Mass from taking place.

“We invite all Turkish organizations abroad to Akhtamar Island in September. There is no more tolerance. We also call on the Ministries of Culture and Foreign Affairs of Turkey. These holy masses are politically motivated, and we need to take necessary measures,” said the nationalist leader of the organization.

Earlier, member of the same organization Irfan Ermish had declared that he was getting ready to stop the Armenians from holding their annual Holy Mass at the Holy Cross Church located at Akhtamar Island in Van.

Ermish had mentioned that the reason for preventing the Armenian mass from taking place is that the authorities of Armenia hadn’t allowed the Turks to conduct their Namaz at the Blue Mosque located in central Yerevan.

Ultra-nationalist ASIM-DER group (founded in 2002) has previously targeted Armenian schools, churches, foundations and individuals in Turkey as part of an anti-Armenian hate campaign
