Artsakh President Meets with Italian Leaders in Rome

YEREVAN—On Monday, the President of Artsakh, Bako Sahakian, on a working visit to Rome, met in the Italian Senate with Chairman of the Standing Commission on Human Rights of the Senate, Luigi Manconi. Artsakh’s presidential press office reports that issues related to Artsakh-Italy relations were discussed during the meeting, with special attention being paid to cooperation in human rights protection.

Ambassador of Armenia to Italy Sargis Ghazaryan and other officials also took part in the meeting.

Sahakian also met in Rome with the executive director of the IPALMO research center, former Italian foreign minister Gianni de Michelis.

Sahakian highlighted the establishment of ties with leading research institutions, considering it “important within the context of developing analytical thought, carrying out well-rounded and objective research, and creating a more integrated view of geopolitical processes.”
