2021 Canadian Census: Are you Armenian? Be counted for who you are!

Dear ANCC Supporter,

Beginning May 2021, the Government of Canada will conduct the 2021 Census.

This year, most of the census data will be collected online. You should receive your confidential access code and instructions on how to complete the online census questionnaire in your mailbox soon, if you already haven’t.

1 in 4 Canadians will receive the long-form of the census. If you are Armenian and you receive the long-form, make sure to identify yourself and members of your household as “ARMENIAN” in Question 23. If you speak Armenian, please include that in Questions 9,10 and 22. If you receive the short form, pleas include “ARMENIAN” in Questions 9 and 10, if applicable.

It is vital for our community to be properly counted and represented, which in turn will help us bolster our advocacy efforts and strengthen our community’s grassroots activism.

The Government of Canada uses census data to guide its policy options, provide funding for social services and much more. It is imperative for our growing and dynamic community to be properly represented in government records to ensure the strength and viability of our community across Canada.

Please share this information with family and friends and ask them to do the same.
