(Horizon Media / PARIS) – The Diaspora Mobilization Conference concluded on Sunday, April 12, with its final sessions focused on setting strategic directions and outlining concrete next steps.
The fourth session, moderated by Armenian-American public figure, entrepreneur, and biochemist Dr. Mkhitar Mouradian, brought together prominent experts in international law, politics, and culture. Among the speakers, France-based international law specialist Dr. Raffi Kalfayan—Secretary General of the IODA initiative and former Secretary General of FIDH—examined the legal avenues available for advancing Armenian national causes. U.S. attorney and international law expert Karnig Kerkonian, a member of the committee dedicated to protecting the fundamental rights of the people of Artsakh, presented ongoing efforts to defend those rights. From Belgium, Kaspar Karampetian, President of the European Armenian Federation for Justice and Democracy and a founding member of the “Europeans for Artsakh” initiative, addressed lobbying work within European political circles. The session concluded with remarks by Prof. Hagop Koulujian, Chair of the “Khachigian” Lectureship of Armenian Language and Culture at UCLA, who underscored the central role of identity and cultural mobilization.
The conference then moved to its closing session, where remaining topics and newly introduced proposals were brought forward for broader discussion. Moderated by ARF Bureau member Daron Der Khatchadourian, participants consolidated the conference’s key takeaways and outlined a path forward, with an emphasis on fostering sustained and effective cooperation among Diaspora institutions.
A formal appeal addressed to Armenians worldwide will be issued, to be followed by a series of political and community-driven initiatives.
