Baku extends detention period of Artsakh leaders
Official Baku has extended the arrest period for the leaders of the occupied and ethnically cleansed Republic of Artsakh. As reported by the Baku media, according to the decision of the Binagadi Court in Baku, the detention period for the previously arrested NKR leaders was extended: Arkady Ghukasyan, Bako Sahakyan, Arayik Harutyunyan, David Babayan, David Ishkhanyan, Lyova Mnatsakanyan, David Manukyan and Ruben Vardanyan.
As the media writes, this decision was made by the Investigative Department of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan, while recently Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev stated to journalists that the investigation into the cases of the Karabakh leaders had been completed and the cases were sent to court. The reason for the change in situation remains unclear. It has not been disclosed how long the detention will be extended. Recall that Azerbaijan accuses the Armenian leaders of the unrecognized republic of a multitude of trumped-up charges, including crimes against peace and humanity, war crimes, terrorism, financing terrorism, murder, and creating illegal armed groups, among other charges.
