Chess: Armenia beats USA at World Team Championship –

Armenia’s national chess team has scored another victory at the ongoing Word Chess Team Championship in Antalya, Turkey. 

The GM Levon Aronian-led quartet beat Team USA 2.5-1.5 in Round 3 of the tournament on Thursday. The top Armenian grandmaster provided the winning point in the first-board game against Hikaru Nakamura.

Earlier at the tournament Armenia drew with Russia 2-2 and beat Egypt 3-1.

In Round 4 scheduled for today Armenia’s rivals are China. 

Ten teams are taking part in the round-robin championship scheduled to go until December 6.
