Armenian Ambassador in UN speaks about Artsakh self-determination –

Mediamax – Armenia ‘s Permanent Representative to the UN , Ambassador Zohrab Mnatsakanyan spoke about self-determination of Artsakh people in UN Security Council.

 Taking part in Security Council open debate on “Respect for the principles and purposes of the UN Charter as a key element for the maintenance of international peace and security”, Zohrab Mnatsakanyan mentioned that often self-determination of people gets distorted under the covers of sovereignty, territorial integrity and non-interference.

According to the Ambassador, the people of Nagorno Karabakh have earned their self- determination right whereas Azerbaijan’s culture of hatred and aggression, violation of human rights, ongoing militancy and the rejection of the peace settlement process mediated by OSCE Minsk Group threatens the physical existence of the people of Nagorno Karabakh .

Armenian Ambassador attached importance to the consolidated support of the international community in the peace process .

Talking about the principle of sovereignty, Armenian Ambassador said that it includes responsibility and irresponsible sovereignty threatens international peace and security.
