ANCC-Western region delegation attends fundraising gala hosted by Hon.Linda Reid, Speaker of the BC Legislative Assembly –
On Friday April 17th, ANCC-Western (Armenian National Committee of Canada) Region representatives Vahig Agopian, Hagop Der Agopian, Vahe Andonian and Garo Terzian attended a fundraising evening gala hosted by Hon. Linda Reid, Speaker of the BC Legislative Assembly, and MLA for Richmond East.
During the event the ANCC delegation had discussions with Mrs. Reid, as well as with the three other MLAs attending. Hon. Amrik Virk, Minister of Technology, Innovation and Citizen’s Services, Deputy Speaker of the House Douglas Horne, and John Yap, Parlimentary Secretary to the Minister of Justice. The upcoming Armenian Genocide Centennial activities and events in the B.C. Legislature were discussed.
The same evening the ANCC delegation had a candid meeting/discussion with Hon. Raymond Chan (Member Queen’s Privy Council for Canada). The former member of parliament and the ANCC representatives discussed upcoming Canadian Parliamentary elections and the Armenian community’s and ANCC’s involvement with the Liberal Party of Canada.
