ANCC Meets with Prime Minister Stephen Harper –
Prime Minister Stephen Harper was in Richmond Hill on Thursday Jan. 29 at a special meeting with Conservative party supporters invited by federal candidates Michael Parsa of Richmond Hill and Bob Saroya federal candidate of Markham-Unionville. Present were: Prime Minister Harper, MP Costas Menegakis, MP Peter Kent, Minister Julian Fantino and Lois Brown MP.
A delegation of the Armenian National Committee of Canada (ANCC) also invited to the special meeting with the new Conservative candidates included: Norair Berberian, Sam Manougian, and Hagop Torossian.
Following the official ceremony, the prime minister met with the Armenian delegation. After talking about issues of concern to the Canadian-Armenian community, the ANCC delegation commended the prime minister for his moral leadership on human rights issues. Mr. Harper told the Armenian delegation that Canada has always been outspoken on the issue of the Armenian Genocide and will continue.

Working in coordination with a network of offices, chapters, and supporters throughout Canada and affiliated organizations around the world, the ANCC actively advances the concerns of the Canadian-Armenian community on a broad range of issues.
