(Horizon Weekly) – Turkey’s Minister of Foreign Affairs has stated that he held a telephone conversation lasting nearly two hours with his Azerbaijani counterpart, during which they discussed the framework document titled “Trump’s Path for International Peace and Prosperity” (TRIPP), signed during the recent visit of Armenia’s foreign minister to Washington, as well as the upcoming parliamentary elections scheduled to take place in Armenia.
“Ahead of the parliamentary elections to be held in Armenia, we see that Mr. Pashinyan currently holds a leading position in public opinion polls. We sincerely support his constructive role and believe that his approach should be preserved and continued,” said Hakan Fidan.
Regarding recent developments on the TRIPP initiative, Fidan stated that the Azerbaijani side’s vision is important to Turkey and that Ankara will continue to fully support Baku in this matter and in other areas.
The Turkish foreign minister also affirmed that Ankara seeks a final peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia and the normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations.
“Azerbaijan, Turkey, and Armenia all possess the necessary will to achieve this objective,” Fidan added.
