The traditional torchlight procession—organized by the Youth Union and the Nikol Aghbalyan Student Union of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) Dashnaktsutyun Party of Armenia—ahead of Thursday’s 110th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, has kicked off from Yerevan’s Republic Square.
As in previous years, this year as well, everyone who wanted have had the opportunity to participate in this procession as a torchbearer, carrying the torches—symbolizing the struggle for the recognition and condemnation of the aforesaid crime against humanity—to the Armenian Genocide Memorial in Yerevan.
Several streets in the Armenian capital will be temporarily closed off during this torchlight procession.
And due to state ceremonial events, the entrance to the Armenian Genocide Memorial will be closed on Thursday from 7am to 10:30am.
