The activities of the Hai Tahd network (Armenian National Committees) ahead of COP29
During November 11-22, 2024, the UN Climate Change Conference (COP29) will convene in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, in which thousands of government delegates, journalists, and representatives of various organizations are expected to participate. Azerbaijan uses this conference to mislead international public opinion about its true nature.
At the same time, this conference is an opportunity to present the real, genocidal, belligerent, totalitarian, and anti-democratic nature of Azerbaijan, also speaking about Azerbaijan’s negative behavior in climate change.
After preparatory works in this direction, the Armenian National Committees network —both committees and offices— have started to implement a specially developed program to reach all governmental, political, public, and media circles that are in any way related to COP-29. The purpose of these activities is to emphasize the right of Artsakhtsis to return, to push the mentioned circles to exert influence on Azerbaijan, demanding to change its anti-Armenian policy regarding the genocidal acts it has committed in Artsakh, its invasion of the borders of the Republic of Armenia and the illegal keeping of Armenian prisoners and hostages.
Every Armenian who uses social networks has an important role in this endeavor. We appeal to everyone to post —in foreign languages— on social networks for this purpose, using at least these four hashtags: #COP29Exposed, #COPout29, #COP29, #COP29Azerbaijan. From this website (https://copout29.com/) you can download graphics and videos prepared by Hai Tahd network, which express our views. It is very important to use the hashtags mentioned above in all posts and/or graphics.
The 2024 Olympic Games, which will start in Paris in the coming days, are also a good opportunity to express our views.
Luis Moreno Ocampo, the first prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, is also a participant in such work in social networks, in cooperation with Armenian circles. On this occasion, Ocampo concludes his message to Armenians by writing: “You have the commitment, reach, and determination to lead this transformative movement. By rallying global communities, you can ensure that COP29 addresses not only climate change but also champions human rights and justice. Armenians, it is time to lead the charge. Post, comment, and use your voice. I and many others will follow you.”
Famous political figures and various international organizations have already expressed their displeasure regarding the convening of COP29 in Baku. Some have even called for a boycott of the initiative.
To inform the public, we will refer to these activities regularly.
