The Armenian St. Gregory the Illuminator Church in Minsk will be consecrated in May 2025, according to Belarusian Ambassador to Armenia Alexander Konyuk. He made the announcement at the opening of the Museum of Martial Glory dedicated to Marshal Hovhannes Bagramyan.

The official consecration date will be determined in coordination with Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II, who will attend the ceremony alongside Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, reports Sputnik Armenia.

Earlier, Belarusian Deputy Foreign Minister Maksim Rizhenkov noted that the church’s construction is part of projects reflecting real ties between the Belarusian and Armenian peoples, despite criticism directed at the Belarusian authorities by Yerevan officials.

Approximately 30,000 Armenians live in Minsk.
