(Horizon Media / LAVAL) – Laval City Councillor Seta Topouzian has been appointed to the board of directors of the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM), giving the City of Laval representation at the national level within the organization that advocates for more than 2,000 municipalities across Canada.
Topouzian also announced that she will serve on the executive committee of the FCM’s Quebec caucus as Laval’s sole representative. She said the appointment provides an opportunity to ensure the city’s priorities and challenges are heard on issues including housing, infrastructure, public safety, and climate change.
Calling the nomination “more than a title,” Topouzian said the role will allow her to work with municipal leaders from across the country to exchange ideas and develop practical solutions to common challenges facing Canadian communities.
