Pomegranate Film Festival Returns for 18th Year

Toronto’s Hamazkayin Armenian Educational and Cultural Society is once again putting Armenian creativity in the spotlight with the 18th annual Pomegranate Film Festival, taking place from November 10 to 16, 2025. With nearly 30 films from 10 countries and more than a dozen North American premieres, this year’s lineup is the most ambitious yet — a true celebration of Armenian voices in world cinema.

The festival opens virtually from November 10 to 12, featuring online screenings through Eventive, and continues in person from November 13 to 16 at the Hamazkayin Theatre and the Armenian Youth Centre of Toronto. Audiences can expect a vibrant mix of genres — from heartfelt comedies and documentaries to daring dramas and student films — each illuminating different facets of the Armenian experience.

Highlights include a powerful selection of works from both emerging and established filmmakers from Armenia and across the diaspora. The program also features international entries from countries such as Australia, France, and the United States, underscoring the festival’s growing global reach and reputation as a platform for cross-cultural exchange.

Beyond screenings, the festival invites audiences to engage with filmmakers through Q&A sessions, panels, and community receptions, fostering dialogue and connection through the shared language of cinema. The Pomegranate Film Festival has become a cornerstone of Toronto’s cultural calendar — a celebration of art, identity, and the stories that bind communities together.
