Opening of regional communications acceptable if sovereignty and territorial integrity are respected, Iran’s Foreign Minister says in Yerevan

We believe that issues in the region should be solved through dialogue and diplomacy and stand against any military action, Iran’s Foreign Minister Sayyid Abbas Araghchi said at a press conference in Yerevan alongside Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan.

He stressed that the unblocking of regional communications should take place within the framework of sovereignty of the countries, and the territorial integrity and national legislature should be respected.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran stands for the use of communication and transit routes, but only within the framework of respect for internationally recognized border. Any other route will be considered unacceptable,” the Foreign Minister stated.
