Ishkhan Saghatelyan slams ‘fabricated’ cases against fellow MPs

Opposition Hayastan faction MP Ishkhan Saghatelyan has denounced the motions to strip his fellow lawmakers Seyran Ohanyan and Artsvik Minasyan of immunity and prosecute them as politically motivated.

“This is a classic example of political persecution. I believe you’ve become convinced of it during this Q&A session,” Saghatelyan told reporters on Friday.

He alleged that the developments stem from an order given by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to Prosecutor General Anna Vardapetyan during a parliament session about a month ago.

“Today, the chief prosecutor is carrying out yet another unlawful order from Nikol Pashinyan,” he claimed. “There are valid reasons not to trust the authorities’ statements as the current government is rooted in lies and deception, which has been proven time and again.”

Saghatelyan criticized the government’s recent rhetoric on terrorism, arguing that it serves merely as a backdrop for fabricating cases that eventually collapse due to lack of evidence.

“It was yet another hollow, fabricated case,” the MP stated.
