Iran`s red lines remain unchanged concerning Armenia`s borders – consul

Iran’s red lines  regarding Armenia’s borders, including in Syunik, remain unchanged.  Iranian Consul to the Republic of Armenia Morteza Abedi Varameni  stated this on August 11 in a conversation with journalists on the  sidelines of the third Armenian- Iranian culinary festival “Navasard”  in Syunik.

“The strategy is very clear. Two or three weeks ago, Mr. Pashinyan  visited Tehran, met with the spiritual leader of Iran, and this topic  was discussed again. And again, Iran emphasized its strategy, and all  our words are always the same,” the consul added.

Touching upon Armenian-economic relations, especially on the  development of Syunik, Varameni noted that there are numerous  programs and one of the key ones is a number of projects being  implemented at the Norduz-Meghri checkpoint. According to him, the  road under construction in the direction of Agarak is also of great  importance. The consul noted that 400 to 500 vehicles pass through  the transport route from Iran to Armenia every day, which in turn  gives a serious impetus to bilateral economic relations.
