Inter midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan may retire after current season

(Horizon Weekly) – Armenian midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan could be nearing the end of his professional career, with reports indicating he may retire following the current season.

According to journalist Matteo Moretto, negotiations between Mkhitaryan and Inter Milan over a contract extension have stalled. The 37-year-old’s existing deal with the club is set to expire on June 30, 2026, and no agreement has been reached on its renewal.

If talks are not revived, Mkhitaryan is expected to consider bringing his playing career to a close.

The veteran midfielder has remained an active part of Inter’s squad this season, making 30 appearances across all competitions, with two goals and three assists to his name.

Mkhitaryan joined the Milan-based side in 2022 from AS Roma and has since contributed to the club’s domestic and European campaigns.
