Henrikh Mkhitaryan among Bundesliga’s most impactful players since 2009

(Horizon Weekly) – Henrikh Mkhitaryan has been recognized among the most influential performers in Germany’s Bundesliga over the past decade and a half, according to new data published by the French football analytics platform PopFoot.

The study examined players who have featured in the Bundesliga since 2009, ranking them by the percentage of matches in which they were awarded “Man of the Match.” Former Armenia national team captain Mkhitaryan secured a place in the top ten, highlighting the lasting impact of his years in German football.

During his tenure with Borussia Dortmund, Mkhitaryan delivered a series of standout performances that earned him widespread recognition. Across 90 Bundesliga appearances, he was named Man of the Match 17 times — an impressive 18.9 percent rate that places him ninth overall among players evaluated in the survey.

The ranking is led by French international Randal Kolo Muani. Bayern Munich stars Harry Kane and Michael Olise also feature prominently near the top of the list.

Mkhitaryan’s inclusion underscores the significance of his contribution to one of Europe’s most competitive leagues and reflects the high level he maintained during his time in Germany, a period that remains a defining chapter in his distinguished club career.
