Four Armenian soldiers killed by Azerbaijani fire – Defense Ministry

Four Armenian soldiers were killed and another was wounded when their combat posts near the village of Nerkin Hand in Syunik Province came under Azerbaijani fire early on Tuesday, the Defense Ministry reported.

“On February 13, Azerbaijani armed forces’ gunfire toward the Armenian combat positions near Nerkin Hand resulted in 4 killed in action and 1 wounded on the Armenian side,” the ministry said in a statement.

The wounded serviceman’s health condition is currently assessed as moderate, with no immediate threat to life.

“The Ministry of Defense will publish the list of the deceased at a later time,” the statement said.

The authorities said earlier two Armenian soldiers were killed by Azerbaijani fire.
