Diaspora strongly supports protest movement in Armenia, leader says
The Tavush for the Homeland protest movement against the Armenian government’s unilateral territorial concessions to Azerbaijan enjoys great support from the Armenian Diaspora, its leader Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan claims.
Speaking to reporters outside the YSU building on Friday, he said that members of the Armenian Diaspora communities had reached out to him to express support for the movement.
“It has received strong support,” the senior cleric claimed, without elaborating further.
Separately, he denounced the move to extend the detention of Artsakh’s former military and political leaders held by Azerbaijan.
“It was not something unexpected. The problem is what measures are being taken by the current Armenian leadership to deal with the issue,” Galstanyan added.
