YEREVAN (ARKA) – At this stage, Azerbaijan will delay signing the peace treaty and will try to extract new concessions from Armenia, said Tigran Abrahamyan, secretary of the opposition faction “I Have the Honor” in the National Assembly.
According to him, with each concession to Azerbaijan, Armenia becomes more vulnerable and puts itself in a very unfavorable position on the negotiating track.
“Each time, the Azerbaijani authorities increase the number of preconditions, accompanied by elements of blackmail and pressure,” he said during a briefing on Friday.
The MP reported that over the past eight days, the Azerbaijani side has been systematically firing in the direction of the forward positions and peaceful settlements along various sections of the front line, from Sotk to the Khoznavar-Khnatsakh section.
“During this time, there has been no collective reaction from the international community, which allows the Azerbaijanis, by testing the general mood in a certain way, to escalate to more serious provocations at some point,” Abrahamyan said.
