(Horizon Media) — Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey are preparing to hold a trilateral command-and-staff military exercise in Azerbaijan later this year, with the drills focused on protecting strategic infrastructure and regional transportation routes.
A main planning conference for the “Eternity-2026” exercise was held under the annual military cooperation program between the defence ministries of the three countries. The computer-assisted exercise is scheduled for November, according to Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Defence.
Alongside military personnel from Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey, representatives of Azerbaijan Railways and the country’s State Agency for the Protection of Strategic Facilities are also expected to participate.
The exercise will simulate tactical-level operations aimed at defending strategic facilities and communication lines extending across the territories of the three participating states. Planners discussed the structure of the joint headquarters, the exercise’s objectives and the field scenarios to be incorporated into the drills.
The “Eternity” exercises form part of an established trilateral security framework centred on protecting regional economic and transportation infrastructure. Previous editions were held in Georgia in 2024 and Turkey in 2025, while this year’s exercise will return to Azerbaijan, underscoring continued military coordination among the three countries.
