Peace achieved through  the violation of the rights of 150,000 Artsakh residents is futile,  unfair and impractical. Artsakh Ombudsman Gegham Stepanyan stated  this in a video message distributed by ArtsakhTV.

As the human rights activist emphasized, the right of Artsakh  residents to a safe, collective and dignified return is undeniable.   Stepanyan noted that over the past year and a half, following the  forced displacement of the population of Artsakh, this fact has been  recognized both in international judicial bodies, including the  International Court of Justice, and in the international political  arena. In this regard, the human rights activist also pointed out the  statements made by various countries and organizations, as well as  resolutions adopted by the parliaments of several states. The Artsakh  Ombudsman expressed his conviction that  efforts made at  international venues will remain ineffective without a simultaneous  demand from  Armenian authorities to include this issue in Armenia’s  negotiations with Azerbaijan.
