Artsakh legislators ask Russian peacekeepers to take stronger measures in preventing Azeri inhumane actions

All parliamentary factions of Artsakh issued a statement strongly condemning the provocations organized by the Azerbaijani military-political leadership aimed at destabilizing the situation in the region.

“The Azerbaijanis who’ve used phosphorus munitions against the peaceful population of Artsakh blocked the Stepanakert-Goris road of life – the highway that has the status of a corridor under the November 9(10) trilateral agreement- for the second time in the recent days under environmental pretexts.

We strongly condemn the provocative actions organized by the Azerbaijani military-political leadership that are aimed the destabilizing the situation in the region.

We are asking citizens of the Republic of Artsakh to display restraint, be vigilant, in order for us to prevent any provocative action by Azerbaijanis with joint efforts. Our people, who have overcome numerous hardships during their existential struggle, will once again withstand the existing and future challenges.

We are calling on the international community to take actions with concrete steps to suppress Azerbaijan’s aggressive aspirations.

We call on the Russian peacekeepers to prevent such inhumane actions by Azerbaijanis with stronger measures within the framework of the trilateral agreement.”

The statement was signed by factions leaders D. Melkumyan from the Democratic Party of Artsakh, A. Mosiyan from the ARF, D. Galstyan from Justice, M. Petrosyan from United Fatherland and A. Harutyunyan from Free Fatherland.
