Armenian and Ukrainian deputy foreign ministers discuss bilateral ties in Kyiv

(Horizon Media / YEREVAN)—Armenia’s Acting Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan met with Ukrainian Deputy Foreign Minister Oleksandr Mishchenko in Kyiv on August 14 as part of a working visit to Ukraine.

The two officials discussed a range of issues on the Armenia–Ukraine bilateral agenda, with particular attention to strengthening political dialogue, expanding economic cooperation and deepening coordination within multilateral platforms.

The Kyiv meeting came three days after Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan held a telephone conversation with his Ukrainian counterpart Andrii Sybiha, during which the two discussed bilateral relations as well as the regional situation and recent developments.

Kostanyan and Mishchenko also welcomed the recent positive trend in bilateral trade and discussed opportunities to further develop economic ties between the two countries.

The deputy foreign ministers emphasized the importance of initiatives aimed at strengthening people-to-people contacts and also addressed humanitarian issues.

The meeting included an exchange of views on regional and international developments, with both sides underscoring the importance of promoting stable and lasting peace.
