Anna Amroyan Wins Silver for Armenia at the European Weightlifting Championships

18-year-old Armenian weightlifter Anna Amroyan (up to 76 kg weight category) won a silver medal at the 2025 European Championships, held in Chișinău. Amroyan delivered an impressive total of 231 kg in the combined event (100 kg snatch and 131 kg clean & jerk), finishing just behind Italy’s Jenna Toco Kenye, who lifted 233 kg.

In addition to the “big” silver for her total, Anna also claimed a “small” bronze medal in the clean & jerk event, posting the third-best result in that discipline.

Another medal for Team Armenia came from Milena Khachatryan, who also competed in the 76 kg category. Khachatryan placed sixth overall with a total of 226 kg (95 kg snatch and 131 kg clean & jerk), but managed to climb the podium in the clean & jerk with a “small” silver medal.

Final standings in the women’s 76 kg category:
