Artsakh President Meets with ARF Western US Leaders
GLENDALE—A delegation of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation Western US Central Committee on Monday met with Nagorno-Karabakh Republic President Bako Sahakian who is in Los Angeles ahead of Thursday’s annual Armenia Fund Telethon.
During the meeting, which took place at the Glendale Hilton Hotel, the sides discussed wide-ranging issues related to the Karabakh conflict resolution process, strengthening of Diaspora-Artsakh relations and efforts to strengthen Artsakh’s statehood.
Special emphasis was placed on the role of the Western Region Armenian-American community in advancing projects in Artsakh and bridging the people of Artsakh with the large Armenian-American community here.
President Sahakian was accompanied by his advisor David Babayan, Presidential advisor and ARF Bureau member Georgi Petrosian, the Permanent Representative of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic in Washington Robert Avetissyan, Armenia’s Consul General to Los Angeles Sergei Sarkisov and Armenia’s Consul to LA Artak Galstyan.
The ARF delegation was headed by the chairman of the Western US Central Committee Dr. Viken Hovsepian and included Avedik Izmirlian, Dr. Viken Yacoubian and Bedig Kazandjian.
The ARF leaders welcomed Sahakian to Los Angeles and briefed the president on the activities of the organization and the community on behalf of Karabakh, ensuring that the Karabakh struggle and the just resolution of the conflict are of utmost priority for the party here in the Western US.
The ARF leaders pledged the organization’s support in advancement of the Nagrono-Karabakh Republic, as well providing assistance to projects that are critical to enhancing every-day life in Artsakh.
