Vana Nazarian appointed to Vanier College Board of Governors

(Horizon Media / MONTREAL) – Vanier College has announced the election of Vana Nazarian as a socioeconomic member of its Board of Governors for a three-year term.
Nazarian, who has served as a Montreal municipal councillor since 2021 and was re-elected in 2025, oversees international outreach and city attractiveness initiatives while contributing to the city’s economic development efforts.
Holding both a master’s degree in art history and an MBA, Nazarian brings experience in governance, financial oversight, accountability, and organizational leadership. Vanier College noted that her professional and political background makes her a strong addition to the institution’s governing body.
In a short statement shared on social media, Nazarian said education plays “a vital role in shaping vibrant, inclusive and forward-looking communities” and expressed gratitude for the appointment by Québec’s Ministry of Higher Education. She added that she looks forward to contributing to the College’s mission while supporting student success, innovation, and stronger ties between education, the community, and the economy.
The Board of Governors serves as the governing body of the College and is composed of 19 members representing both the internal and external community. The College welcomed Nazarian to the Board and thanked her for her commitment to the institution’s mission.
