Minister: Possibility of producing ventilators in Armenia being considered

The Armenian Ministry of High-Tech Industry announces a call for ideas and proposals on design, implementation, complete or partial manufacture of ventilators – mechanical breathing devices – in an effort to help the healthcare sector combat the coronavirus outbreak in the country, Panorama reports.

In a Facebook live on Sunday, High-Tech Industry Minister Arshak Hakobyan said all proposals should be submitted to covid19@hti.am until April 5.

According to the minster, a group of engineers have been exploring the possibility of producing ventilators in Armenia for several days already.

In Hakobyan’s words, one of the ventilators in disorder has been successfully restored following a study, with another one expected to be restored late on Monday or in early Tuesday.
