(Horizon Media / DILIJAN)—Hyatt Hotels Corporation is preparing to enter the Armenian market through an agreement with local developer Green Rock to establish a Hyatt Regency hotel in Dilijan. The agreement was signed on July 25 at a ceremony marking the official start of construction.
The Hyatt Regency Dilijan will be part of a larger mixed-use development and will feature 205 rooms and suites. The complex will also include restaurants, retail and entertainment areas, a spa and wellness centre, a fitness club, an outdoor swimming pool and two cinemas.
A conference centre capable of accommodating more than 550 guests is also planned, along with a rooftop helipad. Developers say the project is intended to expand Dilijan’s appeal beyond leisure tourism and position the city as a destination for international conferences, business meetings and cultural events.
The hotel is expected to create more than 400 jobs, while Green Rock projects that its broader investment program in Dilijan could generate over 800 positions. Hyatt Regency currently operates more than 245 hotels in over 50 countries, and its arrival is expected to further strengthen Armenia’s growing tourism and hospitality sector.
