German Chancellor Angela Merkel pays tribute to the memory of Armenian Genocide victims

German Chancellor Angela Merkel visited the Tsitsernakaberd Memorial today accompanied by Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan.

Chancellor Mekel laid a wreath at the Armenian Genocide Memorial and paid tribute to the memory of the victims with a moment of silence.

Mrs. Merkel then planted a tree in the Memory Alley.

The German Bundestag recognized the Armenian Genocide in 2016.
