(Horizon Media / YEREVAN) – Canada’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Anita Anand, visited the Armenian Genocide Memorial in Yerevan earlier today, ahead of the upcoming European Political Community Summit.
The visit comes as international leaders gather in Armenia’s capital for the summit, underscoring Canada’s continued engagement in the region.
Last week, Minister Anand also participated in the Parliament Hill commemoration of the Armenian Genocide, organized by the Armenian National Committee of Canada (ANCC), alongside cabinet ministers and members of Parliament from all political parties.
During her remarks, Anand made particular reference to the forced displacement of the people of Artsakh, stressing that Armenians continue to face persecution to this day.
In a statement issued on April 24, she reaffirmed Canada’s support for Armenian communities, honoring the memory of the 1.5 million victims of the Armenian Genocide and emphasizing the importance of remembrance, recognition, and the continued fight against denial and hatred.
